Hi! Being of Asian descent as well, I feel that the words “just” does not belong in the phrase, “Just Another Asian Girl” because it is diminishing. A fellow music student once told me, “Play it loud, play it proud.” “Just” does not seem proud but rather like one of those people who say, “I don’t have a job. I’m JUST a (stay-at-home) mom)” but dropping the word “Just” changes the tone and significance of the description of the person because being a mom or even being an Asian Girl can be bigger and better than whatever society thinks it is. “Just” a thought! 😉
Thank you for this comment. You really did get me thinking about it. For a while I did feel like “just” another Asian girl. But you are right. This theme and words across the top was just my beginning. I plan on changing things up soon!
Thank you for the input!
